Satakunnan SETA ry - 100seta briefly in English
Association for Sexual Equality in Satakunta, Finland
Welcome to the web site of Satakunnan SETA, or in brief 100SETA ("sataseta")!
As an association, we are dedicated to achieving equal rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender and intersex (LGBTI) people in our regional area, Satakunta, in western Finland. Our activities are usually organised in the city of Pori, but occasionally we have some events in Rauma. We welcome visitors to join our activities, and other organisations or individuals to co-operate with us. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask; our contact information can be found at the bottom of this page.
Aims
The purpose of our organisation is to promote the sexual equality and other citizen rights in the society and to work for sexual and gender minorities. We aim e.g.
- to provide correct information on sexuality,
- to root out prejudice and intolerance towards non-heterosexuality and variety of gender,
- to remove both explicit and implicit discrimination of sexual and gender minorities in society, language and behaviour standards,
- to enhance full sexual and gender-related equality within legislation and regarding societal status, and
- to promote scientific research.
In practise, we organise events and group meetings for our members and other interested people, follow up media and provide them with information, organise school lectures and co-operate with other organisations to achieve our goals.
